FAST FOOD -THE SILENT KILLER
Fast food is a term given to a food that can be prepared and served very quickly. It refers to a food which is stored and served with preheated and precooked ingredients . Fast food is very harmful to human health . Today in this modern world ,with this modern lifestyle we are unaware about the harmful effects of fast foods .
In fact we can say that fast food industries are developing faster comparing to the other industries. There is a fast food restaurant in each and every corner of the street. Few examples of fast foods are fried food items like French Fries,Pizza,Burger,Beverages, Milkshakes,etc.
Present generation kids are very much attracted to the taste of fast foods. They prefer fast foods to the home made foods . This fast food culture affects not only kids but also the adults of the current society . The term ‘Fast Food ‘ was recognised in a dictionary by Merriam Webster in 1951.
This fast food culture first started in America and slowly spread to all the countries of the world . People begun to eat more fast foods because of the way in which it is marketed, it’s taste attracted everyone ,it is cheaper and easily available. The major reason why death rate increases is that majority of the population consume fast food in large quantities. This is the reason why fast food is called as ‘ Silent Killer ‘.
Nowadays there are millions of fast food restaurants in the world that offers their customers plenty of different meals with special price. Eating fast food can be a good way to save time and money. But it is a bad way of nutrition. Researchers found that eating fast foods more than twice in a week is associated with double risk of Abnormal Glucose Metabolism.
According to the health specialists fast food is responsible for some dangerous fatal diseases like Diabetes, Stroke,Asthma,Liver diseases, Cardiovascular diseases,Cancer,etc. Once we taste fast foods it is difficult for us to reach out of it. So avoiding fast foods is the only way to get rid of all kind of health problems and lead a healthy life.
